Sometimes I don't even know why I love Lee Sungmin as much as I do. If you were to ask me who my ideal type is, I would answer Henry Lau. If you asked me what kind of people I usually like in my kpop groups, I'm usually a fan of leaders, magnaes, rappers and dancers. Sungmin doesn't really fall under any of those categories.
But yet, there he is.
Sungmin who is someone I love for so many reasons and yet for no reason at all. In the wise words of my friend [info]teexsaurus , "Sungmin is always the exception."
This pimp post is basically me trying to tidy up the mess in my head that are my Sungmin fangirlisms and trying to make it more coherent by limiting myself to 10 simple reasons.

Sure he's not a member of the ever-so-sophisticated K.R.Y, but damn it, Sungmin can sing. He can sing well. His voice sings. His words sing. He makes me want to sing (badly).
Sungmin doesn't talk often, he's actually one of the least talkative members in the group, so on television he's often the one shying away, letting the louder members take over.
But when he gets on that stage, the boy freaking shines.

I could go crazy with audiospam when it comes to Sungmin. Okay, I could go crazy with dance spam and picture spam as well, but never mind that.

sungmin + k.r.y - what if this is my favourite song out of all super junior songs. ♥ k.r.y.s would be a dream come true for me if they became an official subgroup
sungmin + snsd - beautiful girl/honey honey i love snsd's vocals and sungmin's vocals. and sungmin's guitar. by extension, i love this.

Super Junior has four lead dancers. Although Sungmin is not listed as any one of them, he often dances in the front with the four main leads and when Donghae and Hangeng are off in China, he's often there to take their places. You're probably thinking, he's the understudy, so what? Well :D ...

Story Time~
One day, three major fanclubs in Korea decided they did not like SNSD. One of those fanclubs were E.L.F. The Soshis were displeased. The E.L.F (and Triples, and Cassies) gave the girls the silent treatment during Dream Concert 08. Sungmin and Kangin (DJ partners and close friends of Sooyoung/Sunny/Taeyeon) were both threatened by Soshis.
After the Dream Concert, a message appeared on Sungmin's Cyworld.

Sungmin really isn't like any other idol I've seen. He can play guitar, he can play piano, he wants to learn how to play all instruments, he likes Radiohead.
In the wise words of an anonymous anon at kpopficwangst :D:
He can do anything he puts his mind to.
Ask him to sing a ballad with KRY and he'll show you he deserves a spot on that stage. Ask him to shred guitar with Jungmo from TRAX and he'll do his best to prove there's talent behind that pretty face and keep up with a bonafide rock star. Ask him to do girl group parodies, and he shakes it as well as Nicole.
He's so interested in doing everything, he seems like such a curious person who also happens to be really sweet at the same time. He's quiet and thoughtful most of the time and he's optimistic about it too. There's just so many things about him to love that you can discover only if you gave him a chance and looked further beyond his high-pitched noona-killing voice and ready peace signs :)
